Anna Puigjaner – Kitchenless City / TALK (EN)Spanish architect Anna Puigjaner is convinced that the current housing crisis can be addressed using historic examples of collective housing, which employ strategies of shared amenities such as dining rooms, lounges and service areas. Her conviction has been turned into reality both in the realization of a housing block in her native city of Barcelona in 2016, as well as in her proposal »Kitchenless City: Architectural Systems for Social Welfare«, which won her the coveted Wheelwright Prize of the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Currently, Puigjaner is researching examples of collective living in Brazil, Sweden, Russia and Korea to derive lessons and possible solutions for future domestic architecture. In her talk, she will share these findings. Free admission |
