During the construction phase between two exhibitions, the main building stays closed. The museum collection is not accessible for reasons of conservation.

Bus 55 from Basel Claraplatz (20 min.) or from train station Badischer Bahnhof (16 min.) to Vitra.
From EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg: Bus 50 to train station Basel SBB (13 min.), Tram 2 to train station Badischer Bahnhof (9 min.), Bus 55 to Vitra (16 min.).
By car:
From Germany and Switzerland: Autobahn A5, exit Weil am Rhein, turn left and follow the signs to Vitra Design Museum.
From France: border crossing at Palmrain Bridge (D), E 35 to Vitra Campus. Travel time from central Basel to Vitra Campus: approximately 10 minutes.
Travelling by taxi:
From EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg to Vitra Campus: approximately 20 minutes. From central Basel: approximately 10 minutes
