Workshops

Workshops

In conjunction with our alternating exhibitions, the Vitra Design Museum offers a variety of workshops for school-age children and youth, university students and other interested visitors. The programme ranges from children’s workshops to activities for school classes to enjoyable recreational workshops for groups. All of the workshops are oriented towards the respective target audience and based on sound didactic methods, providing insights into the design process as well as the associated requirements of imagination, rational thinking and manual dexterity. The aim is to increase the awareness of our everyday culture among participants and to inspire creative engagement with their own designed environment.

Hella Jongerius: Whispering Things

Wild & Wonderful: Animal Sculptures
TOUR & WORKSHOP (DE)
Saturday, 28 March and 9 May 2026
2–5 pm, Vitra Design Museum

Join us for a themed tour of the exhibition »Hella Jongerius: Whispering Things« and discover the Dutch designer’s expressive animal sculptures. Hella Jongerius draws our attention to creatures that we tend to overlook even though we share the same world. Fangs bared, they snarl with anger and precarity, silently giving voice to endangered and forgotten species. Jongerius’s humorous yet poignant critique reminds us to act
responsibly towards animals and nature. Inspired by the tour, release your creativity in the workshop that follows it. Create your own little animal sculptures made from clay and other materials and find out which
animal best expresses your emotions!
