To this day many chairs se rve as symbol of success and affluence. The exhibition »Seats of Power« shows how close this relationship remains today while offering a modern cu ltural history of seating - from Mies van der Rohe's fashionable Barcelona Chair (1929) and the chairs appearing in the debate between Kennedy and N ixon (1960) to presentations of power in today's politics. Among the exhib its we find classics including Charles Eames' Lounge Chair (1943 - 1956) a s well as rarities such as a throne for Pope John Paul II (1994) or Martin o Gamper's Monothrone (2017).\nMore\n\n\nImage: \nLuca Zanier\, UN Room XX IV\, Geneva\, 2013 \n© Luca Zanier DTSTART:20181019T000000 DTEND:20190218T000000 LOCATION:Vitra Design Museum SUMMARY:Ausstellung - Seats of Power END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
