Wunderkammer | GUIDED TOUR (DE)Opening in autumn 2021, the »Wunderkammer« on the Vitra Campus will present a collection of more than one thousand action figures including robots, space toys, comic book characters, folk art and merchandising products from the collection of former Vitra Chairman Rolf Fehlbaum. These objects owe their visual charm to the talent, invention, and sense of humor of predominantly anonymous designers. In their time, these icons of pop culture fascinated millions of children and grown-ups.

Highlights from the Collection | GUIDED TOUR (DE)The guided tour focusses on the highlights from the Vitra Design Museum collection, including rare and singular pieces from designers such as Gerrit Rietveld, Alvar Aalto, Charles & Ray Eames but also less well-known or anonymous designs, rarities and prototypes. The tour offers a unique possibility to experience the history of modern furniture design from its beginnings in the 19th century up to the present day in all its facets – from stylistic and technical innovations to the societal changes reflected in the objects. |
