Basel Museums Night: Surreal Dreams

Friday, 17 January 2020, 6 pm – 2 am

Vitra Design Museum & Vitra Campus

Surreal Dreams
On the occasion of Basel Museums Night, the Vitra Campus will be transformed into a dream world of light and shadow. The light installation »Transitory« by lighting designer Matthias Singer will be shown at the Fire Station: Surrealistic motifs can be experienced three-dimensionally by the means of fog and an infrared camera. In a workshop and during guided tours through the exhibition »Objects of Desire«, visitors will learn more about the dialogue between Surrealism and design. In addition, the Vitra Schaudepot Lab will present designs by students from Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle on the subject of solar energy.
