Ron Arad – Yes to the Uncommon!
Opening Talk & Vernissage | 7 June 2018, 6 pm, Vitra Schaudepot (Depot Deli)

Since the 1980s, Ron Arad has been regarded as a leading figure in furniture design. Featuring radical materials and unusual shapes, the raw, experimental metal seating pieces of his early work revealed a new design aesthetic. Arad has since worked with major furniture companies such as Cassina, Kartell, and Moroso. Inspired forms and a surprising functionality have remained characteristic features of his work, which ranges from individual furnishings to several architectural projects. In conjunction with this solo exhibition in the Vitra Schaudepot, Mateo Kries, Director of the Vitra Design Museum, talks with Ron Arad about his work.
