Christian Brändle – Collecting for the Future / TALK (DE)The foundation of every museum is its collection, but usually only a very small portion of its treasures are accessible to the public. Christian Brändle, Director of the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, changed this in 2013 by opening a visible storage facility at the Toni site in Zurich. In 2018, the main museum building on Ausstellungsstrasse will reopen after renovation. Together with Mateo Kries, Director of the Vitra Design Museum, Brändle discusses the topic of design museum collections and the role of design museums in the 21st century. Free admission |
