Special Workshop: Folded Sculptures | (DE)
Saturday | 12 November 2022 | 11 February 2023
10:30 am, Vitra Schaudepot

From spectacular façades to complex textile structures: many folded constructions in architecture and design are inspired by the traditional art of paper folding. Under the guidance of paper artist Elke Muche, various folding techniques are practised and creative possibilities are explored. Voluminous folded sculptures are then created, which can be transformed into light objects or vases.

Weil Chair – A Chair for Everyone | (DE)
Saturday | 29 October | 19 November 2022 | 18 February | 18 March 2023
10:30 am, Vitra Schaudepot

Affordable design for all – this idea is as old as design itself and still just as relevant. The Berlin designer and architect Van Bo Le-Mentzel transports the concept into the digital age: construction plans for many of his designs can be downloaded from the Internet and built as a DIY project. For this workshop, Le-Mentzel has designed a new chair – the Weil Chair – which participants can build under supervision.

ReDesign – Lights and Lamps | (DE)
Saturday | 15 October 2022| 11 March 2023

Light shapes our environment and remains an enduring source of fascination. Contemporary designers often creatively reuse various plastics and other recycled materials such as textiles and wood for impressive light sculptures and lamps. Saturday | 5 November 2022 | 4 February 2023

€ 75.00 per person, children (9–12 years) may accompany their parents free of charge; children 13 and older may participate with or without parents, reduced price: € 45.00

Drop-In Workshop: Into the Blue – Cyanotypes at the Schaudepot | (DE)
Saturday | 3 December 2022
2–6 pm, Vitra Schaudepot

Cyanotypes – also known as blueprints or sun prints – are an early form of photography in which paper is sensitised with an iron solution that turns bright blue when exposed to sunlight. Combined with opaque or translucent objects, the process yields fascinating photograms. The exhibition »Colour Rush!« provides the opportunity to experiment with this technique and create your own pictures or cards.

The workshop is included with Vitra Schaudepot admission.
